A developing storm will bring scattered rain showers across Southern New England, mainly west of Boston, through Wednesday night. The higher elevations of the Berkshires, Vermont, and extreme Northern New Hampshire and Maine will see a switch over to light snow as the storm progresses through the region from New York and skirts north of Maine.
Meanwhile, a coastal low to the south will push well east, offshore, but Boston and the rest of the New England coast may see some scattered light showers rotate on shore Wednesday night through Thursday morning as well.

Snow totals have been trending down from the interior track storm, spreading 1 to 3 inches across the Berkshires and most of Vermont. A few isolated spots may reach 4 to 6 inches, but that will be mostly for the highest elevations.

Damp Thursday morning commute
Both of these storms should exit in a hurry, but not before making Thursday morning’s commute a bit damp. Also, expect some pockets of fog as you head out the door. The afternoon dries out with the sun breaking through the clouds.
Thursday morning will turn a little breezy with wind gusts hovering around 20 mph as a front inches in from the west. Commuting temps will be in the 30s, but with a wind chill dipping below freezing.
