The Giants interviewed John Harbaugh in person Wednesday at the team’s facility in East Rutherford, N.J., and reportedly were close to finalizing an agreement with the former Ravens coach to fill their vacancy.
ESPN was first to report that Harbaugh was expected to be the Giants next head coach after both sides were negotiating final contract numbers.
The Super Bowl-winning former Ravens coach was believed to be the Giants’ top candidate. Harbaugh has also spoken to the Falcons, who recently hired retired quarterback Matt Ryan, a former Boston College standout, as their president of football.

Young quarterback Jaxson Dart, one of the biggest draws for the Giants, was reportedly involved in meetings with Harbaugh. Dart threw for 15 touchdowns and ran for nine more in 12 starts.
Giants general manager Joe Schoen said he would cast a wide net for the full-time replacement for Brian Daboll, who was fired Nov. 10 with the team off to a 2-8 start.
